Calhoun: I will sign new deal with UConn (AP)
Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun said he intends to sign a new contract with the school he has led to two national championships. “It is important for me to put the recent questions about my future to rest and make it clear that I will be signing a new contract at UConn,” Calhoun said in a statement.
Heat F Wright charged with DUI (AP)
Miami Beach police say Heat forward Dorell Wright has been charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license. Wright was stopped around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, then booked. Bond was set at $1,000, according to Miami-Dade County corrections officials. In a statement, the Heat said they were “aware of the traffic stop” and declined to comment until they could learn more about the incident.
