Iverson vows to overcome ‘tough times’ (AP)
Exiled Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson says he’s experiencing “tough times” a week after it was decided he would not return to the team and his wife filed for divorce. Iverson posted four messages Monday night on his Twitter account telling fans he expected to overcome the most recent obstacles in his life.
‘Nova F King could miss Big East tourney (AP)
The 10th-ranked Villanova Wildcats could play the Big East tournament without forward Taylor King because of an undisclosed personal issue. King was benched by coach Jay Wright for Saturday’s loss against West Virginia. Wright said at Monday’s practice there’s a “teaching point” he’s trying to make with King.
Nuggets’ Karl to miss game vs. Wolves (AP)
Denver Nuggets coach George Karl will miss Wednesday’s game at Minnesota as he undergoes another round of cancer treatment. Karl, who has neck and throat cancer, was scheduled for a surgical procedure Monday to have a feeding tube inserted into his stomach. He will also go through another chemotherapy session Tuesday.
